Disappointing Loss to Heat Leads to Coaching Change

Griffin Fired After Just 43 Games

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (AP) - The Milwaukee Bucks have fired coach Mike Budenholzer just over a week after their stunning first-round playoff loss to the Miami Heat.

The Bucks made the announcement Tuesday, ending Budenholzer's five-season tenure in Milwaukee. The team had high expectations this season after finishing with the best record in the Eastern Conference during the regular season. However, they were upset by the Heat in four games in the first round of the playoffs.

Budenholzer, 53, had a 213-106 record with the Bucks, including a 36-15 mark this season. He led the team to the NBA championship in 2021 and was named the league's Coach of the Year that season.

The Bucks have not yet announced a replacement for Budenholzer.
